Philosophy of Learning
At Kurious Kids Learning Center we believe all children can benefit from an early childhood education that is designed to meet their individual needs and to facilitate their personal development in all areas – physical, social, emotional, cognitive and intellectual.
We believe that children learn through play and a structured educational environment. This is the best way they can enhance their knowledge and gain an understanding of the world. Our caring staff provides a safe environment that includes appropriate role modeling and positive reinforcement. We recognize that each child is unique; not one is the same. Therefore, each child must be treated and taught using various methods that are most effective for them. We recognize that children develop differently and at different stages from one another, because of this, our programs are flexible and adaptable to meet their needs.
Exploration and independence are major goals for all children. Our center provides opportunities for both structured and non-structured activities which are appropriate to the needs and ages of our children. Your child will explore music and movement, dramatic play, stories, arts and crafts, sign language, self-care, and many more adventures with us. At Kurious Kids we strive to provide your child with a “home away from home” experience, while maintaining a safe, educational environment.
Our Staff
The owner of Kurious Kids, Jennifer Truckly, is currently a first grade teacher for the Whitehall-Coplay School District. She obtained a teaching degree from Kutztown University in Elementary and Special Education and has extensive experience teaching children with special needs for over 25 years.
Our staff includes a group of highly qualified caring individuals. Each staff member is carefully selected through a series of interviews, personal/professional references, and observation in our classrooms in order to ensure that they love children and are a fit for our positive and family-oriented environment.
All staff members have completed criminal and child abuse background checks, annual health assessments, and education verifications. Each staff member is required to have professional development each year on various topics directly related to early childhood and development. In addition, staff members must hold current first aid and CPR certifications.
